ONLY ONE OCEAN

Based on the observation of the sixth extinction caused by human activities, Jean Loncle is a photo-journalist who has become an underwater photographer. He works without any flash and uses the technique of white balance to restore the colors of the seabed. He only photographs using natural light that has managed to penetrate the water column. Among others, he created two projects: SEETHESEA and PRÎSM.

SEETHESEA

DIVING / PHOTOGRAPHING / STORY TELLING

About SeeTheSea, Jean works in collaboration with a friend, Anaïs Cassez, passionate about the tiny, and therefore, the macro lens. According to their opportunities, they meet around the ocean and try to bring another gaze at its inhabitants (photo below : Anaïs Cassez).

PRÎSM

SCIENCE / TEAM / COMMUNITY

Global warming, pollution, erosion, overfishing, ecosystems has it tough. The PRÎSM emerges from a need to study and monitor the reef marine environment around Sainte Marie Island, Madagascar, in order to allow its management and protection.

THE WILD

“On earth, animals fear humans for good reasons. We are much less diving into the blue and our immersion time is limited. Rays and other groupers, sharks, whales show an amazing curiosity and sometimes approach very close. Probably also out of indifference. This contact with wild life is an intense and deep emotion, not easy to express. It is undoubtedly question of our origins and our instincts ”
